Flood Control Channels

JET Filter weep hole components seamlessly integrate into Flood Control Channels, enhancing proper drainage and extending the structural integrity.

Wall Drainage Solutions for Flood Control Channels

The purpose of installing weep holes in flood control channels and storm water concrete lined trapezoidal channels is to relieve the hydrostatic water pressure that may settle or rest behind the wall panel.

The One-way backflow preventer is an ideal solution for flood control channels and concrete lined trapezoidal storm water channels to manage erosion control and drainage concerns.

The JET Filter comes fitted with the highly rated TenCate Mirafi FW 300 series. This proven application provides long-term flow rates in dynamic and high gradient conditions. To ensure proper drainage relief, one of the key components of our JET Filter System is a removable inner filter cartridge that can be replaced or cleaned when needed. This simple step can be done from the front side of the trapezoidal concrete lined panel structure without excavating soil material behind the wall to replace the erosion control fabric.

Failed Traditional Drainage System

The JET Filter backflow preventer check valve assembly extends the life of the flood control channel by relieving water pressure. Allowing proper drainage will save time plus money on extensive repairs or replacement. The life expectancy of a spillway basin flood control channel can be increased simply by adding sufficient drainage. Dry soil may provide little stress on the panels, however, heavy soil without proper drainage may cause the panels to buckle or separate the seams causing erosion concerns. This could mean expensive repairs will be required for the district’s budget forecast.

To keep flood control channels from failing due to clogged weep holes and hydrostatic water pressure, it is important to install a simple maintainable weep hole system to release this pressure.
