3-Inch Weep Hole Filter
  • The conical design of our maintainable weep hole filter gives our 3-inch weep hole filter unit 2.5 times the filter fabric surface area than a 3 inch traditional weep hole. The increased surface area allows our filters to produce greater than 200%* additional water flow. The 3-inch weep hole filter also has 6 times the surface area of our 2.5″ dia. ABS filters. As a result, the 3-inch weep hole filter units can be used in more diverse and high-durability drainage system applications.
  • Unlike other wall drainage systems, all JET Filter weep hole units are designed to be quickly and easily maintained. The time between maintenance depends on many variables such as backfill material and soil hydrology.
  • The JET Filter System’s 3-inch weep hole filter not only provides an impressive increase in water flow and surface area, but it also enhances the overall efficiency and longevity of drainage systems. This increased capacity is crucial in preventing hydrostatic pressure buildup behind retaining walls, which can lead to structural failures over time.

What is the purpose of the JET Filter Maintainable Weep Hole Filter?

The JET Filter Maintainable Weep Hole Filter is designed to alleviate hydrostatic pressure behind retaining structures by enabling efficient water drainage while preventing soil loss and erosion. The 3” filter is compatible with both new and existing weep holes, making it ideal for installation during new construction or retrofitting existing structures.

What is the benefit of maintainable weep hole filters?

Retaining structure drainage systems can eventually clog and fail. Traditional solutions are not designed for maintenance, making repairs costly and challenging. Maintainable weep hole filters, however, feature a cleanable and replaceable filter cartridge that is easy to access and maintain. This ensures consistent performance over time and minimizes the risk of structural failure.

What types of structures can this weep hole filter be installed on?

The 3″ diameter model is suitable for use on many structures including seawalls, bulkheads, box culverts and retaining walls. While the 3″ units have great drainage capacity, some structures require more. For these check out the 4″ dia. and 6″ diameter units.

What maintenance is required for the JET Filter 3" Diameter model?

Maintenance involves periodically checking and, if necessary, cleaning the filter cartridge. Cleaning takes approximatley 2-3 minutes. The 3″ unit can go a few years between maintenance. The frequncy is dependent on the quality of the backfill. Locations with good permable backfill have less need for mainteance than locations with high clay content.
