One reference for the full JET Filter™ and GEOJET line: tested flow rates across conditions, filter surface area, cartridge intervals, materials, standards, and backflow configurations, with sources cited.
This is the complete data reference for specifying JET Filter™ and GEOJET weep hole filters. It collects the tested and reported values an engineer needs in one place: flow across multiple pressure and soil conditions, filter fabric surface area, maintenance intervals, housing material, applicable standards, and backflow valve performance. Every value carries its source. For per-model cut sheets, CAD, and STEP files, use the Engineering Hub.
How to Read the Flow Data
Flow rate depends entirely on the conditions of measurement, so every column below names its pressure differential and soil condition. The silty sand and fine sand columns reflect near-zero pressure with soil resistance present. The no-soil columns isolate the unit’s hydraulic capacity at 1 PSI (used for uniform comparison) and at 2.5 PSI (laboratory test condition with clean water). Match the column to the condition your design represents.

All flow values in GPM. JET Filter™ values from TRI Environmental Report MAPP-LSH 2020-003 (tested/calculated). Silty sand and fine sand measured at near 0 PSI; No Soil (1 PSI) are calculated values for uniform comparison; No Soil (2.5 PSI) are laboratory test conditions with clean water and no soil resistance. †GEOJET values are estimates extrapolated from JET Filter test data (90 to 95% performance factor) and are not directly tested. ‡GEOJET media replacement interval varies with hydrocarbon loading. N/T = not tested. Housing service life is 100+ years for all 316L stainless steel models.
Improvement Over Traditional 2D Weep Holes
The comparison below isolates the gain from the three-dimensional conical design against a flat weep hole of the same diameter, at the 1 PSI no-soil condition used for uniform comparison.
| Diameter | Traditional 2D (1 PSI) | JET Filter 3D (1 PSI) | Improvement |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3″ | 24.4 GPM | 33 GPM | +35% |
| 4″ | 40.2 GPM | 77.1 GPM | +92% |
| 6″ | 88.9 GPM | 166.6 GPM | +87% |
Flow rates at 1 PSI, No Soil conditions per TRI Environmental Report MAPP-LSH 2020-003. See the Product Comparison Guide for the full comparison.
Filter Fabric Surface Area
Surface area is what drives the flow advantage. The conical design presents up to 2.7 times more filter fabric surface area than a flat geotextile, and area scales up with diameter: 17.44 in² at 3 inch, 26.03 in² at 4 inch, and 76.95 in² at 6 inch. The comparisons below show the step up between sizes.

Configuration and Backflow Options
TRI Environmental also tested the units in multiple configurations to characterize how flow changes when a louvered vent or a closed-end backflow valve is added. The check valve trades peak flow for protection against reverse flow, which is the correct choice in tidal and flood-prone conditions.
| Unit Size | Standard Open-End w/ Face Plate | + Louvered Vent | Closed-End w/ Backflow Valve |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3″ | 52.2 GPM | 42.1 GPM | Not tested |
| 4″ | 100.0 GPM | 47.0 GPM | 35.0 GPM |
| 6″ | >256.5 GPM | 256.5 GPM | 50.0 GPM |
Configuration flow rates measured at 2.5 PSI per TRI Environmental Report MAPP-LSH 2020-003 (Table 5). Closed-end backflow valve values reflect the flow available while the one-way valve resists reverse flow.
